CPGO Global Leadership Team
The purpose of the Global Leadership Team (The CPGOGLT) is to advance global missions at Centerpoint by nurturing existing missions partnerships, fostering a missions culture through fundraising and awareness events and missions classes, as well as equipping, elevating, and deploying short-term teams to make a lasting impact and establish a significant presence in our CPGO Global church partnerships.
Objectives:
Facilitate opportunities for church members to interact and learn about CPGO Global. Up to six events per year with a minimum of two events per year.
Increase CP family participation in missions through education, opportunities, inspiration, and communication.
Offer input on potential new partnerships or partnerships that should be terminated.
Maintain an advisory role, recognizing that final determinations lie outside the team's responsibilities.
Visit areas of priority or focus of the church when possible.
Provide a second perspective during budgeting season to offer insights and recommendations.
Uphold confidentiality regarding budget details and potential partnerships until official approvals are granted.
Membership:
The GLT will consist of a group of 5-8 individuals. It is recommended that diversity of representation throughout the church body (gender, generational, married, single etc..) be taken into consideration for GLT membership.
Membership Process
General membership qualifications:
1. Membership and Commitment:
Must be an active member of Centerpoint Church with a minimum tenure of two years.
Demonstrate involvement by having served on a CP team for at least one year.
Regular financial contribution according to your ability to support the mission and vision of Centerpoint Church.
2. Local and Global Missions Engagement:
Actively participate in at least one local mission event per year.
Preferred prior experience in missions work.
Display a genuine passion for global missions coupled with active involvement in the Centerpoint Church community.
3. Involvement and Engagement:
Engage with the community by actively participating in various Centerpoint Church activities and initiatives.
Demonstrate commitment to spiritual growth and fellowship by participating in a small group, whether through multigenerational ministry or Connect groups.
It is imperative that all prospective members of the GLT exhibit a deep-rooted commitment to the mission and values of Centerpoint Church while actively engaging in the holistic growth and support of the church community.
Term Limits:
Every position requires a commitment to serve for a minimum of three years, with the flexibility to step down or extend at the end of the initial three-year term. Members may choose to extend their service for an additional two years, totaling five years of service. Following this period, members must take a one-year break from serving before being eligible to reapply for any open positions.
Meeting Requirements:
Members must attend the quarterly meetings with the exception of one missed meeting per calendar year.
Positions and Responsibilities:
CPGOC/ Staff Liaison: The CPGO Coordinator will hold this position
**All other positions are for volunteers only. **
Secretary:
Schedules meetings, communicates updates for the team, puts together meeting documents, keeps meeting minutes and notes.
Liaison(s):
- Praying for and inviting others to pray for global missionaries and partners.
- Care for Centerpoint missionaries while on home ministry assignment or while visiting.
- Correspond with missionaries through encouragement, care, counsel, and personal prayer support.
- Give updates about the missionaries to the team. And communicate any needs or change in circumstances twice a year.
- Each Liaison is responsible for 3-4 missionaries/partners.
Missions Education Advisor(s):
- Help choose and/or develop a curriculum for a church-wide missions class offered in the latter part of the fiscal year. (March).
- Aid in teaching the class if possible, or helping to find an instructor or helping administer the class.
- Help develop and lead yearly training for the GLT.
Activities Lead:
- Oversee and execute any missions impact meetings, awareness weekends, or dinners.
- Oversee Sow Sunday (Annually October)
- Missions Night (Annually February)
- Meet the Missionary (As Needed -working in collaboration with Liaison)
- Recruit, coordinate and oversee volunteers to help with CPGO Global events.
Trips and Team support coordinator(s):
- Help recruit participants and advertise trips
- Aid members of the local church in responding to God’s call to missions through short-term opportunities.
- Review applications for short-term trips and conduct interviews of applicants.
- Aid in the team selection process.
- Help choose or develop short-term trip training and preparation protocols.
- Pray over and for the short-term participants
- Assist with some communication with the partner depending on the partner
- Help coordinate all transportation to airport, packing for trips
- Help coordinate fundraising for trip supplies
- Collect feedback from returning participants and help improve trips
Social media and Communications Manager:
- Help with designs for events
- Help make CPGO Global mission-minded social media posts and promotional material
- Possibly attend one trip a year to gather photos and videos of our teams and our trips.
Short Term Trip Leader(s):
**This position is reserved for members of the church who have demonstrated leadership on short-term trips.The Short-Term Trip Leaders play a crucial role in providing feedback to enhance future trips, participating in the "Sow Sunday" event and fundraisers (One to two a year) as a source of information, and continuing to lead trips or train others to lead ongoing or new trips.
Collaboration with the Trips and Team Support Coordinator is key to strengthening the overall operations of this role.
- Offer feedback and insights on how to enhance and improve short-term trips based on past experiences.
- Actively participate in the planning and execution of church events, such as "Sow Sunday" and fundraisers, providing valuable information related to trips.
- Lead short-term trips, ensuring smooth operations and impactful experiences for participants.
- Train and mentor others to lead trips, sharing knowledge and best practices acquired from previous trips.
- Collaborate closely with the Trips and Team Support Coordinator to streamline processes and provide additional support where needed.
- Assist in the development of new trip initiatives and strategies to strengthen the overall impact of short-term missions.
